What is PVD Coated Jewellery?
Our long lasting Waterproof Jewellery Collection is designed to not tarnish overtime, meaning you can wear it day in, day out. This is all down to the innovative PVD (physical vapour deposition) Coating process which is ten times stronger than standard gold plating due to the use of a vacuum coating process which results in an extremely durable finish - making every single piece of our jewellery waterproof, sweatproof, perfume-proof and life-proof!
PVD Jewellery Care & Cleaning Tips
Although our Waterproof Jewellery is designed to be worn every day, ensure you give your jewellery the life it deserves by taking note of the below tips and tricks;
Our jewellery is perfume-proof, but to ensure the longevity of your jewellery, limit contact with cosmetics, perfumes & body products. Let them settle/soak in before putting on your jewellery.
Be sure to gently wipe jewellery regularly to remove any natural oils and build-up that could potentially cause damage over time.
If you want to clean your jewellery, clean gently with water and carefully pat dry. Avoid cleaning with harsh chemicals and scrubbing material that could cause damage and scratch jewellery.
Avoid contact with detergents, bleaches, ammonia, chlorine and any other strong chemicals.
Put your jewellery on last when getting ready to keep it tangle-free and avoid damage.
When you’re not wearing your jewellery, store in one of our Jewellery Rolls or Jewellery Boxes, to ensure each piece is kept safe and tangle and scratch-free.

How long does PVD coating last?
In general, if cared for properly, PVD Coated Jewellery can last up to 10 years. We’re so confident in our Waterproof Jewellery Collection, but have included a two-year colour warranty* to put your mind at ease.
Does gold PVD coating tarnish?
Gold PVD Jewellery is designed to be tarnish-free, even when worn every day! We do recommend regularly gently wiping your jewellery to remove any natural oils or build-up that may damage the jewellery intime.
Can gold PVD coating scratch?
The PVD Coating process ensures ultimate durability, including being scratch-proof. Lessen the chances of your jewellery getting scratched by taking your jewellery off before bed, keeping it safely stored (keeping each piece separate from each other) in a jewellery box or roll whenever you’re not wearing it, and putting your jewellery on last when getting ready.
Is PVD jewellery hypoallergenic?
Yes! As well as being environmentally friendly, the PVD Coating process makes our Waterproof Jewellery hypoallergenic and safe for sensitive skin.
Can you polish PVD Jewellery?
We would advise you to not use jewellery polish or a harsh polishing cloth on our PVD Coated Jewellery, as this could damage the jewellery. Instead, gently wipe with a cotton ball and water, then gently pat dry with a soft cloth.
