We sat down with fashion and lifestyle influencer Aaliya Pandor to talk all things Eid.
Ahead of this year’s Eid celebrations marking the end of Ramadan, we had the pleasure of speaking with @aaliya_pandor about what Eid means to her, the traditions that make it so special, and gift ideas to spread joy during the holy month.
“This year, I’ll be celebrating Eid with family and friends, starting with a cosy breakfast at my grandma’s. Afterwards, I’ll spend time with my in-laws, enjoying a big feast with traditional dishes like biryani and exchanging gifts. The evening will be spent with my mums, and later in the week, I’ll meet my friends for our secret Eid gift exchange. It’s always a joyful time filled with love, laughter, and great food.”
“I’d say the best part of the celebration is definitely the time spent with family, whether it’s enjoying the big feast, exchanging gifts, or just sharing laughs together. There’s something so wonderful about being surrounded by loved ones and feeling that sense of community.”
“Eid is a time to show gratitude to Allah for helping us complete Ramadan, which is 30 days of fasting, and to celebrate the joy of togetherness. It’s a reminder of faith, love, and the blessings in our lives.”
“My handbag essentials for Eid are simple yet essential - lipstick, pressed powder, perfume, chewing gum, and a comb. Just the basics to keep me fresh and polished throughout the celebrations!”
“Right now, I’m reading the Quran, as it’s a beautiful tradition to complete it during the 30 days of Ramadan. With 30 chapters, it’s the perfect opportunity to reflect and connect more deeply with the holy book throughout the month.”
"During Ramadan, I make an effort to avoid distractions like TV and focus on what truly matters. I’ve been spending my time watching and listening to Islamic short videos and series, particularly those by Mufti Menk and Omar Suleiman. Their insights help me reflect and stay spiritually connected throughout the month."
“Modest, effortless, elegant.”
“There’s so much I love about being a content creator! I’ve always been passionate about marketing and business, and even though I studied pharmacy, I’ve always wanted to explore that side of things. Content creation has given me the chance to work with amazing brands and build relationships I never imagined possible 15 years ago. I love bringing my ideas to life and most of all, having a community that trusts and supports me.”
